La  [[Wahl Eversharp]] nacque con la denominazione di ''The Wahl Company'' nel [[1914]], a seguito della decisione della ''Wahl Adding Machine'' (una azienda che produceva calcolatrici meccaniche fin dal [[1905]] circa) di espandere le sue attività. Si tratta di uno dei pochi casi nella storia delle stilografiche di inizio secolo in cui un produttore di successo nasce dalla decisione di una azienda di espandersi in un altro settore di attività effettuando un investimento su una azienda già presente, e non dallo sfruttamento commerciale di una qualche invenzione.
