La diffusione iniziale delle penne della [[Holland]] avveniva attraverso una rete di rivenditori, agenti e commessi viaggiatori, fra i quali spicca il nome di ''George Safford [[Parker]]'', che darà inizio alla sua attività proprio migliorando un alimentatore di una [[Holland]]. Nel 1889 l'azienda diventò società di capitali, in questo periodo probabilmente la [[Holland]] era il principale produttore di penne stilografiche presente sul mercato, e nel decennio del 1890 venne effettuata una campagna promozionale a livello nazionale.
