The Wahl Eversharp, hereinafter known simply as Eversharp, was born in 1914, following the decision of the Wahl Adding Machine (a company that produced mechanical calculators) to expand its activities. This is one of the few cases in the early history of fountain pen of the century in which a producer of success starts from the decision of a company to expand into another business sector making an investment, and not from the commercial exploitation of an invention.
