La [[Zerollo]] produsse sostanzialmente, sia pure in un numero notevole di varianti, un solo modello, denominato [[Zerollo|Duo Color]] appunto per la particolarità di consentire, avendo al suo interno due penne separate, di scrivere con due colori diversi. Il meccanismo, che riprende la tecnologia delle [[rientranti]] è estremamente sofisticato e sopporta tolleranze minime, cosa che rende la penna piuttosto debole sul piano della stabilità meccanica. Attraverso un ingegnoso sistema a vite senza fine le due penne, che sono separate da una lamina metallica agganciata al fondello che la mette in rotazione, vengono fatte scorrere tramite delle scanalature realizzate sul corpo della penna e portate alternativamente dentro e fuori il corpo a seconda della direzione in cui si ruota il fondello.
