L'azienda ebbe un certo successo, e riuscì a commercializzare i suoi prodotti anche all'estero appoggiandosi alla [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Dunhill Dunhill] per il mercato inglese ed alla [[Unic]] per quello francese, ma benché funzionale si trattava comunque di una penna dotata un sistema meccanico molto complesso e delicato, di difficile riparazione, che la rendeva fragile e tutto sommato non molto più comoda da usare rispetto alla semplice e lineare soluzione di portarsi dietro due penne separate. Mantenendo però la produzione basata solo su questo particolare modello, e non sapendo produrre ulteriore innovazione, con la caduta dell'interesse riscosso nel periodo iniziale, la [[Zerollo]] subì un progressivo declino restando sparendo dal mercato dopo la seconda guerra mondiale.
