Pare però che, almeno dal punto di vista della registrazione presso la camera di commercio, la data debba essere spostata ai primi anni '40, dato che secondo L. Jacopini risulta la registrazione di una ''"Società anonima vendita penne bicolore Itala Cromograf"'' avvenuta a Genova nel [[1941]] e mantenuta fino al [[1954]]. Non è comunque chiaro se si tratti di un committente per la produzione o semplicemente di società creata, si vocifera, ma senza nessuna prova concreta, dallo stesso Armando Simoni,<ref>nel caso sorge comunque spontaneo il dubbio del perché la penna non sia stata prodotta direttamente sotto marchio [[Omas]].</ref> per la commercializzazione del prodotto.

La [[Itala Cromograf|Itala]] infatti ha prodotto un solo modello, chiamato con lo stesso nome, dotato, come la [[Zerollo]], di un particolarissimo sistema a doppio pennino, che come la sua analoga la rende uno dei modelli di stilografica più complessi sul piano tecnico che siano mai stati realizzati. Benché non vi sia al riguardo nessun documento ufficiale, e nonostante che il marchio non vi compaia neanche indirettamente in nessuna maniera, viene sovente data per scontata la produzione di questa penna da parte della [[Omas]] sulla base delle caratteristiche tecniche ed estetiche della stessa.
