Despite the similarity, the [[Lamy 27]] was a pen with its own clear personality, and presented considerable technical innovation, like the particular feeder, referred to as ''[[Tintomatic]]'', which is still used today for its characteristic to ensure a constant flow of ink despite changes in temperature and pressure, thanks to the micro inlays around the feed.

Nel [[1966]] l'azienda creò quello che viene considerato il suo capolavoro, la [[Lamy 2000]]. Per la realizzazione di questa penna la [[Lamy]] si rivolse a '' [[Designed by::http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerd_A._Müller|Gerd A. Müller]]'' un famoso designer industriale che seguiva i dettami stilistici della [http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bauhaus Bauhaus], per cui la forma segue dalla funzione. La penna venne realizzata in [[Makrolon]], una resina plastica di policarbonato rinforzata con fibre di vetro, un materiale per l'epoca rivoluzionario. Dotata di [[caricamento a stantuffo]] la penna viene considerata uno dei migliori esempi di design moderno per la semplicità delle linee e la funzionalità della realizzazione.
