All'incirca nel [[1925]] venne introdotto il marchio [[Platignum]]; in questo periodo infatti pare ci sia stata una sorta di riorganizzazione dell'azienda. Pare che l'intenzione fosse quella di usare il nome ''Platinum'', ma che questo non fosse registrabile come marchio trattandosi del nome di un metallo, pertanto il nome venne leggermente modificato e venne creata la ''Platignum Pen Company'' che iniziò a commercializzare direttamente penne con marchio [[Platignum]], concentrandosi sulla produzione di fascia bassa rispetto alle penne distribuite con il marchio principale.

Non è chiara la situazione, c'è chi riporta che il marchio [[Mentmore]] sia stato progressivamente sostituito da [[Platignum]], ma dalla fine degli anni '30 agli anni '50 esiste una ampia produzione di penne con questo marchio. Inoltre un brevetto del 1936 ({{Cite patent|GB|457212}}) riporta esplicitamente il nome di ''Spot Pen Company'' come nuovo nome della ''Mentmore Manufacturing Company''.
