<noinclude></noinclude>Azienda francese, nata nel [[1795]] ad opera di ''Nicolas-Jacques Conté'' che in risposta alla scarsità di grafite dovuta alle guerre contro l'Inghilterra che ne bloccavano l'importazione, ideò e brevettò una nuova modalità di costruzione delle matite mescolando grafite e creta. Con il fratello creò la ''Société Conté'' per la produzione di matite e gli omonimi pastelli per artisti (altra invenzione dello stesso Nicolas). L'azienda (assorbita dalla Bic) è tutt'oggi nota per la produzione di questi due prodotti. E' nota una produzione di stilografiche dagli anni '20 almeno fino il dopoguerra.

With his brother he created the Société Conté for the production of pencils and crayons for artists and the homonyms pastels (another Nicolas invention). The company (absorbed by Bic) is still known for the production of these two products. It's know a fountain pens production from the 20s at least until the war.
