All this would make [[Nettuno]], after the [[Uhlmann's Eterno]], the oldest Italian manufacturer of fountain pens, like [[Tibaldi]], at least for what concern the foundation year. Una prima traccia certa della produzione di penne stilografiche origina al 1921, data di registrazione del marchio ''Penna Nettuno Sicurezza'' ({{Marchio|21390}}) usato per la produzione di penne realizzate sia con [[caricamento a contagocce]] che [[safety]]. La produzione iniziale è infatti abbastanza convenzionale, con penne in ebanite nera liscia di diverse misure ([[Nettuno 50x|502]], [[Nettuno 50x|504]], [[Nettuno 50x|506]], [[Nettuno 50x|508]]). A queste si aggiungono penne con [[overlay|rivestimenti]] in metallo placcato oro.

A first clear trace of fountain pens production  originates to 1921, the registration date of the ''Penna Nettuno Sicurezza'' trademark ({{Marchio|21390}}), used for the production of pens made ​​with either [[eyedropper filler]] or [[safety]]. The initial production is in fact fairly conventional, with smooth black hard rubber pens of different sizes ([[Nettuno 50x|502]], [[Nettuno 50x|504]], [[Nettuno 50x|506]], [[Nettuno 50x|508]]). In addition there were  [[overlay]] pens in gold-plated metal.

Nel 1922 Umberto Vecchietti morì, lasciando l'azienda nelle mani della moglie, Ada Corazza Vecchietti, che la portò avanti aprendo, nel 1928, lo storico negozio di Via Marconi 6, ancora oggi gestito dalla famiglia. Nel 1930 il figlio di Umberto, Alfonso, subentrò alla madre nella conduzione dell'azienda, portata avanti fino alla chiusura della stessa negli anni '50.  

Nel 1922 Umberto Vecchietti morì, lasciando l'azienda nelle mani della moglie, Ada Corazza Vecchietti, che la portò avanti aprendo, nel 1928, lo storico negozio di Via Marconi 6, ancora oggi gestito dalla famiglia. Nel 1930 il figlio di Umberto, Alfonso, subentrò alla madre nella conduzione dell'azienda, portata avanti fino alla chiusura della stessa negli anni '50.
