The company changed hands several times, first in 1822 and then in 1850, when it became the property of ''J. M. Paillard'', assuming his name. In [[1895]] ''Eugene Moreau'' took over the company, and from [[1898]] began to move production to Mouy. The company was established as ''Société Anonyme des anciens Établissements J. M. Paillard'' in [[1903]].

Il trasferimento della produzione a Mouy venne completato nel [[1912]], ma per la produzione di stilografiche resta indicata nelle pubblicità una sede parigina, Passage St-Sébastien, 17, indirizzo che viene citato pure nei brevetti richiesti all'estero. Non è chiaro se si tratti della sede legale o di una azienda poi separatasi dall'originale. La ditta risulta attiva nel mercato delle stilografiche dalla fine della prima guerra mondiale agli anni '60.

E' da notare che un tale Mr. Paillard viene citato come responsabile dell'ufficio di rappresentanza per la Francia della [[Montblanc]], non è chiaro si tratta di una omonimia (caso più probabile), o se si facesse riferimento alla ditta. L'azienda era attiva anche nel campo della cancelleria, con la produzione di inchiostri e nell'ebanisteria. I primi modelli si stilografiche erano di importazione americana.

In seguito vennero prodotte penne stilografiche sotto due marchi, Semper per i modelli di punta e Scriptor per la fascia economica. Alla fine degli anni '30 le penne vengono invece identificate direttamente con il nome J. M. Paillard o la sigla J.M.P. La produzione di stilografiche cessò nel 1960 ma l'azienda continuò le sue attività nel mercato del materiale da scrittura.
