Anche i rapporti con questa ditta non sono chiari, alcuni sostengono che la [[Carter]] acquisì la [[De Witt-La France]], altri che la [[Carter]] era semplicemente il proprietario del terreno su cui sorgevano gli impianti ed il maggior acquirente dei loro prodotti; la [[De Witt-La France]] infatti faceva da fabbrica di produzione per altri marchi (negli anni '30 si legherà alla [[Chilton]]).
